CO2 NATURE’S FERTILIZER

By:Wendy O’Brien

Carbon dioxide is nature's fertilizer and plants love to covert CO2 to oxygen. The increased carbon dioxide and the warming have contributed to the greening of the planet, he said.
The news media, the general public and ultimately the politicians have been led to believe that there is a broad consensus in the scientific community that carbon gas emissions are causing global warming. But that is not true as many reputable scientists don't make that link and believe that other factors are more likely the causes of global warming.

IS IT SOUND?

By:Robbie Maxwell

The idea of the government creating an emissions market, whereby companies pay for licenses to produce a certain quantity of carbon emissions (which are tradable with other companies at a market determined price) is the only economically sound strategy we have to combat not only the problem of pollution but also the lack of big business interest in R & D in new renewable energies. Fossil fuels are comparatively very cheap, therefore there is no incentive for large corporations such as energy and transport companies to spend a great deal of money researching new technologies which aren’t as cost effect as fossil fuels.

CO-OP AMERICA

By:Jane Munroe

A published from Co-op America, provides a robust roadmap for electric utilities to accelerate the growth of solar energy. Incorporating the latest technology, market, and policy breakthroughs and interviews with key industry players and experts, it shows how a coordinated effort among regulators, the solar industry, and utilities can enable solar to reach 10 percent of U.S. electricity generation by 2025. At present, the combination of solar photovoltaic’s (rooftop systems turning sunlight into electricity) and concentrating solar power (utility-scale installations that harness sunlight to create steam to run generators) contribute only 0.06% of total U.S. electricity generation.

IT'S TIME FOR ACTION

By:Andrew S.

The clock is ticking and the alarm has already sounded. The world must take action to avoid a disaster of increasing scale as time passes. We must now find solutions that go outside of the box of what Al Gore has proposed with emissions cuts. World leaders must now forge a global coalition of world leaders committed to solving the problem. The time has come to find ways to nurture mankind's collective genius to save the planet was a red-hot fever that will wipe out most of Earth's species.

A LOAD OF RUBBISH

By:Jill Anderson

The 1.6 billion tonnes of rubbish the world throws away each year has a big potential source of clean energy. As concerns about climate change escalate and prices on fossil fuels like oil and natural gas soar to record levels, more companies are investing in ways to use methane gas to power homes and vehicles. Landfills where municipal waste is collected and buried are one of the biggest producers of methane, a gas whose greenhouse effect is 21 times worse than carbon dioxide. If this gas is collected and burned to generate electricity emissions of carbon dioxide are less harmful to the environment than the original methane. This could be a key part of the solution package being sought to curb global warming.
